Cosmos

Cosmos

Cosmos are easy-to-grow annual flowers, making them ideal for borders and cutting gardens. Seeds are typically sown indoors from March to April or directly outdoors from late April to May, with plants transplanted outside after the last frost in May or early June. Cosmos grow best in full sun (6–8 hours daily) and prefer well-drained soil, performing particularly well in soils that are not overly rich.

Flowering from June to October, cosmos produce continuous blooms that attract pollinators and make excellent cut flowers.

Plants should be spaced 30–45 cm apart and watered regularly while establishing, though they become moderately drought tolerant once mature. As frost-tender annuals, they will not survive winter, but regular deadheading and picking will encourage a long-lasting and abundant display.
